Kansas City Power and Light (KCPL), Siemens Energy and Sega Inc. jointly presented a technical paper at the PowerGen International 2012 conference held in Orlando, Florida. The paper details how the 720MW wall-fired LaCygne Unit 2 plant utilized a ZoloBOSS combustion monitoring system to reduce NOx by 20% The real-time, ZoloBOSS combustion information was used by the Siemens P3000 combustion optimization system to balance combustion across the furnace, lower excess O2 and achieve the NOx reduction.
