Strategic Account Manager – Steel Industry

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Strategic Account Manager creates and expands relationships with one to five strategically important customers. Responsible for achieving sales quota and strategic account objectives.
Represents the entire range of company products and services to assigned customers. Leads customer account planning and ensures assigned customers’ expectations are met by the company.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES ·
– Establishes productive, professional relationships with key customer personnel.
– Orchestrates company actions (field service, engineering, marketing, management, etc.) to deliver the expected company and customer results.
– Creates 12 month account plan including critical milestones.
– Aligns activities with overall market strategy including product development actions (refines product offering, value prop and anticipates future needs.
– Enlists the support of the entire company by establishing productive, team oriented, professional relationships with all necessary company personnel.

PERFORMANCE METRICS
– Financial: orders, revenue, profit
– Strategic: company and product positioning

QUALIFICATIONS
– Four year college degree from an accredited institution
– Minimum of five years of strategic sales experience in a technical products b2b environment
– Experience in combustion, heavy industry (steel, petrochemical…) a plus
– High energy self-starter
– Ability to travel internationally

Product Manager – Disruptive Technology for Industrial Markets

Summary

Responsible for actively developing and managing the product introduction and evaluation stage of the sales process in existing and new industrial applications. Primary technical resource for the outside sales force and direct customer interaction. Works closely with the Field Service, Engineering and Sales teams as both technical resource and product development and positioning advocate. Must be able to create and maintain excellent working relationships with other functional groups and customers throughout the product development and sales cycle.

Responsibilities

Manage Product Development Process of new and existing market introductions.
Establish and maintain expert level of product knowledge.
Establish and maintain working level of application knowledge.
Establish and refine product positioning resulting in clear value prop.
Listen, understand and convey customer requirement and application knowledge to internal stake holders.
Listen, understand and convey product and technology knowledge to external stake holders.
Work with sales in the preparation of proposals.
Assist in the development of sales tools.
Assist in the development of aftermarket sales and service offerings.
Frequent travel to customer sites in support of sales activity, field service activity and training activity.
Maintain professional business relationships with channel partners and customers.
Provide project management assistance.
Identify customer needs to help drive future growth.
Resolve customer issues or orchestrate the company’s response to address customer issues in a manner that is consistent with the company’s approach.

Qualifications

Must have direct experience introducing disruptive technologies (capital equipment) into industrial markets.
Demonstrated product introduction from concept to commercialization including defining and executing technical and market deliverables.
4 years Product Management experience required
BA/BS in Engineering, Technical Field, or equivalent; MBA a plus
Familiarity with industrial processes including petrochemical, refinery, and steel.
Solid understanding of basic electrical and mechanical control systems and the related drawings.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Power Point, Microsoft Project and the ability to learn new tools.
